We had a sick hen last month… she laid on the coop floor for three days (I didn’t realize she couldn’t move until then). She couldn’t stand or walk. I brought her in the house, gave her a warm bath and (sorry) probed her insides for signs of an egg… she had none, but smelled terribly rotten and had a milky expression. On advice from my friend and zoologist Kermit Blackwood… I shoved down her gullet: a whole ginger chunk, a Crannassure Cap, 1 chewable vit. C, brasil nuts for protein and grapes for hydration-every morning and night for 4 days. I kept her confined to the brooder during the night and brought her out to the sun and dirt every day-with water close by. She made a full recovery!!
